ロサンゼルス・ドジャースの大谷翔平投手（31）が、MVPなどの各賞受賞者を称える毎年恒例のアワードディナーに出席し、壇上で英語によるスピーチを行いました。落ち着いたネイビージャケット姿で登場した大谷は、約2分半にわたり、支えてくれた人々や家族への感謝を自らの言葉で丁寧に伝え、会場から大きな拍手を浴びました。

Thank you Tom, I appreciate the introduction and kind words.

BBWAA thank you once again for hosting this great event, and always making us feel welcome. Congratulations your 101st Gala.

To all the writers who voted for me, thank you. This MVP award is very meaningful, and winning it again means so much to me. A deep appreciation goes out to all of you writers for recognizing the hard work and efforts that were put for achieving this MVP award.

To my fellow recipients congratulations to all of you, and your achievements. Especially to the 86′ Mets team, I now know the feeling of what it’s like to become a world champion, and it’s great. So congratulations to your 40th anniversary.

Thank you to the Dodgers organization for believing in me, and embracing my vision. To owner Mark Walters who is here tonight, and the rest of the ownership group. The entire front office, especially Andrew Friedman, and Lon Rozen who is also attending.

To all my teammates and coaching staff, for helping and encouraging me throughout the year. I felt your support every day. A huge shout out to the entire Dodgers staff behind the scenes, especially Al Garcia who is also here tonight. I appreciate you all.

To my support group, starting with my agent Nez Balero, I appreciate all you do, and his wife Liz, here tonight as well. To CAA, especially Matt Hidaka for your support, Julia White, Anya, Colley, and the rest of the circle.

2. センテンスごとの意味とレベル感（CEFR目安）

(1) Hello, hello.

• 意味: どうも、どうも（皆さんこんにちは）。
• ポイント: 同じ挨拶を2回続けると、会場の反応を促す効果。
• CEFR: A1
• 言い換え: Hi everyone! / Good evening! / What’s up, LA?

(2) I want to say (that) I am so proud of this team.

• 意味: このチームを本当に誇りに思っています、と申し上げたいです。
• 文法: want to say (that) S + V（thatは省略可）
• 語法: be proud of 〜（〜を誇りに思う）

(3) You guys are the greatest fans in the world.

• 意味: 皆さんは世界最高のファンです。
• 語法: you guys は米口語で「皆さん」。性別不問。ただしフォーマルでは everyone が無難。
• 最上級: the greatest（「世界一」を強調）
• CEFR: A2

(4) I’m ready to get another ring next year.

• 意味: 来年もう一つ（もう1回）リングを手にする準備はできています。
• 文化ノート: ring は「優勝リング（チャンピオンリング）」のこと（野球・NBAなど北米スポーツの慣用表現）。
• 構文: be ready to + 動詞原形（〜する準備ができている）
• CEFR: A2〜B1
• 言い換え: We’re ready to win it again next year. / Let’s get another championship next year.

(5) Let’s go!

• 意味: さあ行こう！／盛り上がっていこう！
• 用法: 試合前後の決めフレーズ。短く力強いコール。
• CEFR: A1
• 言い換え: Let’s do this! / Come on! / Let’s run it back!

  proud of → 連結して proudov、this team → this team（/s/をはっきり）

  are the → /ɑːrðə/ に近い弱形、in the → /ɪnðə/
• I’m ready to get another ring next year.

  to は /tə/、another は /əˈnʌðər/（a-は弱く）

リズム練習: 手拍子を4拍で取り、太字の語で強く叩く → want / say / so / PROUD / TEAM … のように“ドン”を感じると、英語らしい抑揚に近づきます。

5. 文法・語法のミニ講座

• that の省略: I want to say (that) … の that は口語で省略可。正式スピーチでも自然。
• 最上級 the greatest: the + 形容詞最上級 + 名詞。スポーツMCでは “the greatest fans in the world” は定番賛辞。
• ring のメタファー: 直訳の「指輪」ではなく「優勝リング」。和訳では「優勝」「連覇」など意訳が自然。
• I’m ready to…: 決意表明の定番。I’m ready to compete / step up / go all the way. など拡張可。

• A2: We are very proud. You are the best fans. We will win again next year.
• B1: I couldn’t be prouder of this team. You’re incredible fans. We’re ready to defend our title next year.
• B2: This team has shown resilience. You’re the greatest fans anywhere. We’re ready to run it back next year.

10. よくある疑問Q&A

Q1. “you guys” は失礼？
A. 親しみのある口語。公式の場でも米スポーツでは一般的。気になる場合は everyone / you all。

Q2. “ring” を “championship” に変えてもOK？
A. OK。ニュアンスは「優勝」へ。get another ring は北米スポーツらしさが増す表現。

Q3. “I’m ready to get …” の “get” は浅い？
A. スポーツ文脈では自然で力強い。フォーマル寄りにするなら win/bring home/secure なども可。
