Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport, provides comprehensive services to help passengers recover lost items. Whether you’ve misplaced something before or after international departure procedures, the airport’s dedicated Lost and Found departments are here to assist.

Steps to Retrieve Lost Items at Haneda Airport

1.Identify the Correct Lost and Found Office: Depending on where you lost your item, you should contact the appropriate Lost and Found office:

    • Before International Departure Procedures (General Area): Tel: 03-5757-8111
    • After International Departure Procedures (From Security Check to Boarding Gates):
      • Terminal 2: Tel: 03-5757-8111
      • Terminal 3: Tel: 03-5533-6931

2.Wait for a Response: If you have reported your lost item online, wait for the office to contact you. If they locate your item, they will provide a reference number.

3. Reply to Their Email: Respond to their email with your details, including name, address, phone number, and details of a proxy if you are using one.

4.Arranging for Pickup: Confirm the arrangements for the collection of the item, either by yourself, a friend, a family member in Japan, or a proxy shipping service. Haneda AIrport Lost and Found Office also sends the lost and found items to a domestic address “delivery charges collect”.

Haneda Airport Customs office does not offer the services of sending lost and found items,

5. Contact Us for Proxy Shipping Service: If you need a proxy shipping service to send the item overseas, you can contact us through our inquiry form for lost and found shipping from Japan.

Important Information:

  • Retention Period: Lost and found items are kept for only 7 days.
  • After 7 Days: Items are handed over to the Tokyo Airport Police Station.

Procedure for Picking up from the Police Station:

Contact Tokyo Airport Police Department: If your item is not found at the airport Lost and Found, it may have been handed over to the Tokyo Airport Police Department.

    • Location: Nine minutes (750m) from Haneda Airport Terminal 1
    • Tel: 03-5757-0110

Contact Tokyo Airport Police Department and obtain their reference number after ensuring that they already have the lost and found item at their office.

  • Authorization: Fill out the letter of authorization (bilingual version available) and send it either directly to the police or to your proxy.
  • Confirm Pickup: Ensure your proxy contacts the police department to arrange the pickup date and time.
  • Other documents: They normally ask you to submit a copy of your passport and if possible the photo of the lost item.

Remember, every airport has its unique procedures and policies regarding lost and found items. It’s always recommended to contact the specific Lost and Found office directly at Haneda Airport for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
