We can arrange shipping of both used pianos and newly purchased pianos. Pickups can be done from residents almost anywhere in Japan as long as the pianos are at accessible locations. After a piano is picked up, it is first delivered to a packing company where a crate is made. If you are newly purchasing a piano, normally the seller makes an arrangement of delivering within the country. It would perhaps be most economical to have them arrange domestic transportation to the packing company which we specify.

Here are some points to keep in mind when shipping a piano from Japan.

• Pianos with ivory keys are not allowed to be shipped out of Japan because ivory trade is illegal today. (It is not illegal to own a piano with ivory keys but it cannot be traded across the border.) It is necessary to prove that the piano you are shipping does not have ivory keys. Normally piano manufacturers such as Yamaha or Kawai can verify if you give them the model number.
• If you are not moving back from Japan to your country but only shipping a piano or shipping a newly purchased one, check the import duty and tax.
